Improving digital public services for young people


The Improvement Service is working with Young Scot to increase the range of digital services available to Scotland’s young people, regardless of geography, experience and circumstance.


The work will contribute to Young Scot’s Strategic Plan 2019-22, which sets out the direction the organisation will take over the next three years and was developed jointly with young people.


As part of this, the launch of the Young Scot Customer Experience Platform took place last month. launched on 12 June 2019 and is available to over 700,000 Young Scot NEC cardholders. This will be part of the transformation of the Young Scot National Entitlement Card (YSNEC).


It provides young people aged 12 -26 in Scotland an opportunity to become a member and discover and securely access, using myaccount, a wide range of personalised opportunities and services, rewards and discounts all in one place. The aim by 2022 is to have more than 175,000 members signed up to this new rewards and membership platform.


The YSNEC programme will have many evolutions over the coming months and years.


The partnership between Young Scot and the Digital Public Services team at the Improvement Service will be one of many which will contribute in giving young Scots greater choice and parity of access to the opportunities and services that they are entitled to.
