IS Spatial Information Service to attend GeoDATA Forum

The Improvement Service has made great progress in creating a sustainable model for increasing the use and maintenance of key local government data assets.

Given that we are currently looking for partnership opportunities to help in those endeavours, the Spatial Information Service will be exhibiting and hosting a workshop at the upcoming GeoDATA Forum/GEO Business conference in London from 21-22 May 2019. The event is free to attend and is open to private and public sector organisations looking to explore the value of geospatial data for their business.

We would encourage local authorities to send representation to such conferences to understand how they could and should be using their data assets to improve their public services.

Officially supported by the AGI (Association for Geographic Information) and OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) and sponsored by Verisk, the GeoDATA Forum takes place at the Business Design Centre (London). The two-day show includes two sessions focussed on Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Big Data where you can hear from:

  • Charles Kennelly, Chief Technical Officer, ESRI UK
  • Mark Korver, Geospatial Lead, Amazon
  • Dr Marc Hobbell, Director EMEA, Pitney Bowes
  • Neil Ackroyd, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ordnance Survey
  • Paramjeet Sachdev, Director Centre of Excellence & SAP Platform & Technology, SAP

In addition to GIS and Big Data, there are two sessions dedicated to mobility and insurance.

Visitors to both GeoDATA Forum and GEO Business can look forward to taking part in a whole host of networking events as well.

You can register for both events via the or simply email your name, job title, company name and email address to Caroline Hobden,, and she will do it on your behalf.
