The Talk Money Scotland Week (formerly Financial Capability Week) will take place between the 12-18 November 2018. The annual event is celebrating the work thousands of organisations are doing to improve financial capability across the UK.
The theme for 2018 is financial wellbeing, with a focus on what organisations can do to get more people accessing free debt advice, more people saving regularly, more young people receiving a meaningful financial education and fewer people using credit for everyday spending.
Throughout the week organisations will encourage their customers to talk money, showcase their services and lead the charge to make their work more effective, by turning evidence of what works into action at scale under the hashtag #Talkmoney and #TalkMoneyScotland.
A webinar was delivered recently to showcase some of the approaches during the 2017 week ‘Increasing Financial Capability through a Co-ordinated approach’, using examples from Renfrewshire, West Lothian and Falkirk Council. Details of future webinars can be found on the events page.
Throughout this week you will see a variety of Talk Money Scotland events taking place including a range of seminars, webinars, national conference and reception to celebrate the work of the Scotland Financial Capability Forum and various initiatives delivering on the strategy across Scotland.
We want to invite you to take part and share the work that you are doing, hold events and get people talking about money.
