When you register on the Improvement Service website we ask you to provide personal information that we require in order to provide a service to you in accordance with our usual operating procedures and quality standards. How do we handle your email information?
We prefer to communicate with our users by e-mail as this is efficient, quick and saves costs. However, if you wish us not to do so please notify us in writing right away. If we do not hear from you to the contrary we will assume you are happy for us to do so and we will correspond to the e-mail address you have supplied to us. If you ever want to stop this then please write to us at the address below and e-mail us for security reasons. E-mails will not be encrypted or otherwise sent in any special form.
What information do we collect on website use and what do we do with it?
With or without cookies, our website keeps track on usage data, such as the source address that the page request is coming from (i.e. your IP address, domain name), date and time of the page request, the referring website (if any) and other parameters in the URL (e.g. search criteria). We use this data to better understand use of the website so we know what areas of our website users prefer, how they find the site etc. This information is stored in log files and is used for aggregated and statistical reporting only. It is not attributed to you as an individual.
How can you amend your personal information, or ask us to remove it or cease using it for direct marketing purposes?
Registered users of any of the Improvement Service websites can amend their personal details by logging in and clicking on ‘Your profile'. Users can unsubscribe from any newsletters by logging in and clicking on ‘Your subscriptions'.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information held about you by us. You also have the right to require us to correct any inaccuracies in your information. The Improvement Service respects your right to privacy. If you do not wish to have your personal information used in the ways we have specified, we will respect your wishes.
