The Leadership Toolkit is aimed at senior managers and leaders operating at strategic levels within organisations. Like the "Stepping Stones to Improvement" toolkit (aimed at managers and staff), the content of the Leadership Toolkit is produced by a company called goodpractice.net which regularly updates and refreshes the material. The toolkit is being provided for leaders in Scottish local government by the Improvement Service on a pilot basis for one year.

"Stepping Stones to Improvement" provides a range of practical management resources and tools which can help you to develop your understanding and capacity and improve you and your team's effectiveness and performance. Content is produced by a company called goodpractice.net which regularly updates and refreshes the material, and it is organised in a way that provides just-in-time, task-orientated support. This resource is being provided by the Improvement Service on a pilot basis for one year.

Continuous Improvement Toolkit |

This tookit has been developed to support Continuous Improvement and is specifically aimed at councils, their partners and those staff who face the challenge of improving service delivery. The content of the toolkit was developed through the collaboration of practitioners in a number of Scottish councils, led by Aberdeen City Council under the direction of the Customer First CRM Programme Board. The toolkit provides a generic nine-stage framework or route map for the running of Continuous Improvement projects and incorporates a bank of tools, techniques, templates and links to resources that provide guidance and support for running projects from start to finish.

Customer Services Toolkit |

The Customer Services Toolkit is a resource developed by and for councils to help increase the profile and professionalism of customer services staff in local authorities. Developed by the Improvement Service's Customer First Programme in conjunction with Renfrewshire Council (as lead council) and 12 other Scottish councils, the toolkit forms part of a wider project to develop an accredited training qualification for customer services professionals.

Change Management Action Pack |

A consortium of Scottish local authorities – under Falkirk Council’s lead - developed and launched the Change Management Action Pack in 2005. The initiative was one of a number of workstreams within the Customer First programme. The Change Management Action Pack is a collection of documents and presentations intended to offer good practice guidance for any public sector organisation undergoing significant change.
