The Improvement Service was set up to support improvement in the efficiency, quality and accountability of public services in Scotland through provision of advice and consultancy, project management and support for learning and sharing of knowledge. This website is intended to help elected members, officers and practitioners to share their views and experiences and to access information and resources on issues that concern and affect Scottish local government and the drive for improvement.

Vacancy: Project Manager, Customer Satisfaction and Experience
The Improvement Service is offering, within the Customer First Programme, a 12 months secondment opportunity on a full time basis to an innovative, self-motivated and excellent project manager.

The successful individual will take forward the delivery of a key project aimed principally at understanding and evidencing consistently whether councils' significant investments in Customer Relationship Management are filtering through to affect customer satisfaction and experience levels.

Update on the National Recruitment Portal project

Since start up in June 2008, over 1000 vacancies have been published on the National Recruitment Portal, www.myjobscotland.gov.uk with over 16000 applications going on to the system. An article to be published by the Daily Record will highlight not only the value of the portal for jobseekers, but also emphasises the importance of local government jobs and the benefits of working for local government.
