The Improvement Service and COSLA are planning a social media campaign in the lead-up and during the COP26 UN climate summit in Glasgow, 31 October – 12 November 2021.
The campaign will highlight the work of Scottish councils across service areas in order to demonstrate the extensive efforts of local authorities in tackling climate change. It aims to promote the importance of local government in the context of COP26 talks and as key to the delivery of global emission reduction targets.
To support the campaign, we're looking for examples of innovative local practice in thematic policy and service areas to share as case studies. We are looking for any project or case study that supports the transition to net zero across a number of policy areas:
- Economy, business and employability
- Planning and built environment
- Energy, transport and waste
- Health, children and youth
- Nature, climate adaptation and biodiversity
- Community engagement and just transition
The campaign will also aim to engage councils through a dedicated hashtag, where councils will be invited to further promote the projects and achievements on social media.
You can submit examples through our online form. Submissions will close on Friday September 10 at 17:00.
