Our colleagues at the LGIU have recently launched a project #DispatchesFromTheDoorsteps which will run up to the general election on 12 December.
They hope to capture stories from people involved in the general election campaign – councillors, council officers, political parties, candidates, the public, the police, local reporters – about instances of abuse, harassment, violence and disinformation witnessed in the general election campaign, and how they are being tackled
Abuse, violence, harassment and disinformation have no place in our democracy. LGiU’s #DispatchesFromTheDoorstep project will shine a light on un-democratic behaviour witnessed on the general election campaign trail and hear how this behaviour is being tackled by individuals, councils, parties and the police. They will share these anonymously using the hashtag #DispatchesFromTheDoorstep. Contact LGiU by email, WhatsApp (07852 289020) or Twitter DM.
