The Improvement Service has published its new Business Plan for 2023/24.
Throughout 2023/24, the IS will continue to support local authorities and their partners to deliver transformational change to sustain and where possible improve outcomes, reduce inequalities and achieve efficiencies.
Sarah Gadsden, Chief Executive of the Improvement Service, said:
“Local government continues to face significant challenges, from financial and workforce pressures to a cost-of-living crisis, which is affecting their own services as well as the lives of their citizens and communities.
“Given the multiple and complex challenges facing local government, the Improvement Service has a critical role to play over the next 12 months in assisting local authorities to continue to improve and transform services, focus on prevention and generate financial savings.
“Our new Business Plan spells out how we intend to face these challenges, and how we will continue to work closely with local government to support councils and their partners to respond to this difficult operating environment.”
