The Improvement Service has published a series of one-page briefing documents that detail each of the Place and Wellbeing Outcomes and summarise the evidence supporting the impact of each Outcome.

The briefings are designed to help organisations take effective, place-based actions that enhance wellbeing and support equity in local communities by providing valuable insights and evidence.

They can help organisations communicate effectively and advocate for place-based approaches that enhance wellbeing and reduce inequalities within local communities. Practical uses include:

  • Strengthening funding proposals: incorporate the evidence from the briefings into funding applications to demonstrate the anticipated impact on wellbeing, making proposals more compelling and substantiated.
  • Supporting policy development: provide decision-makers with concise, evidence-backed summaries to guide strategic policy formation and efficient resource allocation.
  • Enhancing project planning: use the briefings during the project design phase to ensure new initiatives are aligned with and contribute to specific Place and Wellbeing Outcomes.
  • Facilitating partnerships: share the briefings to initiate conversations and build collaborative partnerships with organisations that have shared goals, fostering a coordinated approach to community wellbeing.
