The Improvement Service launched the new One Scotland Gazetteer API at the recent Esri UK Scottish Conference in Perth.

This application enables Esri UK customers to access the One Scotland Gazetteer API through the ArcGIS Platform.

The One Scotland Gazetteer is an address dataset that comprises up-to-date data maintained by each of Scotland’s 32 local authorities. Local gazetteers are collated by the Spatial Information Service at the Improvement Service, where robust quality assurance is carried out.

The OSG is freely available to members of the Public Sector Geospatial Agreement. It is used throughout the public sector, including by the emergency services, and also forms the foundation for Ordnance Survey’s AddressBase product suite in Scotland.
