The Improvement Service is the Gold Winner for the Innovation Award at IESE Awards 2021, held last night (8 September 2021). The prize was awarded for leading the development, rollout and the impact of was developed at pace in response to the lockdown environment to ease the burden on councils and provide a richer customer experience. It enables eligible people to apply online for a National Entitlement Card (NEC) from the comfort of their own home or while on the move.

This week Glasgow City Council became the 24th council to adopt

The IESE Award Innovation category is for developing and/or bringing to market new innovative technologies or facilities that can transform the delivery of a local public service.

Martin Brown, Head of Digital Public Services at the Improvement Service: “The development has been made possible through close partnership working between the IS and its delivery partner for the NEC Scheme, Dundee City Council, by the valued contribution of IS' technology partner, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), together with input from others within and beyond the IS.
