Simple terms explainer

Councils must decide and share the rules they use to work out when carers can get support. These rules—called eligibility criteria—help make sure support is given fairly and consistently. Even if a carer doesn’t meet the threshold for full support, councils must still offer advice and information to help them in their caring role. The criteria must be reviewed regularly to keep them up to date.
