Simple terms explainer
Councils must support people who care for others—whether they’re adults or young carers—by offering a personalised support plan. This plan looks at what help the carer needs to stay healthy and well, and to balance caring with other parts of life. If support is needed, the council must provide it or help the carer find it. Councils must also make sure carers know what support is available and how to get it.
