Simple terms explainer

Councils must make sure every child and young person has someone they can go to for help or advice about their wellbeing. This person - called a Named Person - is usually a health visitor or teacher and acts as a point of contact for families. The service is offered to everyone, but families don’t have to use it if they don’t want to.
