Simple terms explainer

Councils must publish a report showing what they’ve done - and plan to do - to respect and promote children’s rights, as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). This includes making sure their decisions and services don’t go against children’s rights, and taking steps to improve how those rights are upheld. They also need to make a version of the report that’s easy for children to understand.
