Simple terms explainer

Councils must regularly check how well they are delivering housing services. This includes looking at things like the condition of homes, how quickly repairs are done, how rent is managed, and how well tenancies are supported. Councils collect data, compare their performance with other landlords, and report the results to the Scottish Housing Regulator. This helps make sure housing services are meeting standards and improving over time. Councils also share this information with tenants and the public so everyone can see how well they’re doing and where improvements are needed.
