Simple terms explainer
Councils must invite local communities to prepare Local Place Plans - these are community-led plans that set out ideas for how land and spaces in their area should be used or improved. The council must publish a formal invitation and give a deadline for when plans should be submitted. Once a plan is received and meets the requirements, the council must add it to a public register. These plans can then help shape the council’s future planning decisions.
