Seven day a week operation for Registrars

Midlothian Council’s dedicated Registrations team is now geared up to offer a seven days a week service.

Karen Gilhooley, pictured, along with Fay Jordan, Audrey Casey, Lee Fordham and Tracey Thomson are working together to make sure deaths can be registered on time and with consideration for social distancing, keeping staff and public safe.

Linda Joseph, Customer Services Delivery Officer who manages the Registrars, said: “We have adapted our process to allow remote, electronic registration.

“Paperwork is completed via telephone contact with our staff who are working from home, with the final part of the process being completed in the Registration Office.”

Linda said: “I can’t praise the team enough for their commitment and dedication, and I am very grateful for their support.

“We would also like to thank Digital Services, the Property and Facilities team, and also the Library Support staff of Roberta Lunn, Christina Harley and Anne Geddes who have being thrown in at the deep end helping with administration duties.”
