A new resource on health and wellbeing in transport planning is on the way this autumn.
Building on the Place and Wellbeing: Movement Theme, this upcoming briefing will provide practical guidance for transport and public health professionals on embedding health and wellbeing into transport planning and decision-making.
It has been developed by members of the Place and Wellbeing Collaborative and Public Health and Sustainable Transport Learning Network, including representatives from many local authorities and health boards.
The guidance will align with Scotland’s National Transport Strategy 2 priorities, from improving health and tackling inequalities to supporting climate action. It’s been shaped in response to practitioner demand for clearer, actionable tools and will help bridge the gap between transport and public health.
Keep an eye out over the coming months for updates, including the briefing launch and an opportunity to join learning sessions later in the year. Together, we can make transport systems that support healthier, fairer communities.
