The National Violence Against Women Network is delivering a spotlight webinar series, throughout the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (25 November – 10 December).

The spotlight webinars will focus on selected topics identified by the National VAW Network as crucial to supporting the delivery of Equally Safe and improving outcomes for women and girls. Each webinar will allow participants the opportunity to understand the current challenges, hear from examples of good practice, and discuss what actions are needed to support joined-up working.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that starts on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. The global 16 Days campaign calls for global actions to increase awareness, galvanise advocacy efforts, and share knowledge and innovations.

The National VAW Network, which is coordinated by the Improvement Service, brings together VAW Partnership Coordinators/Lead Officers across Scotland and other key stakeholders including the Scottish Government and COSLA to share information, learning and resources and ensure that there is meaningful engagement and a coordinated approach taken on relevant issues. The National VAW Network has also developed a toolkit of resources to add value to local 16 Days campaigns.

The webinars are open to anyone and we encourage participation from a range of stakeholders across local government, VAWG organisations, and other policy and practice areas relevant to responding to VAWG, trauma and inequalities in Scotland.
