The Improvement Service recently held the first in a series of evaluation related webinars. These delve into different aspects of evaluation and hope to shine a light on the range of activities that can support good practice.
With over 60 attendees, the series began in October with an overview of measuring social value in Scottish local authorities, explaining the approach to social value taken by the Improvement Service and hearing from three authorities where social value has been measured or is being explored: Dundee, Fife and, Perth and Kinross. They shared their experience of applying social return on investment analysis to demonstrate the value of services, including energy advice and welfare rights and talked about the development of a financial proxy database. The session also outlined the various ways the Improvement Service can support local authorities and community planning partners with these and other forms of evaluation work.
The next session in the webinar series will be about evaluating the impact of partnership working, on 4 November. If you’d like to find out more about this and the other sessions in this series, follow us on our social media or our Eventbrite page.
