A short survey on how local authorities are embedding a trauma-informed and responsive approach in their work has been carried out by the Improvement Service.

Twenty-nine of 31 local authorities responded to the survey, which is based on the National Trauma Transformation Programme (NTTP) roadmap.

With no formal reporting requirements for local authorities embedding a trauma-informed and responsive approach across their systems, organisations and workforces, the survey was developed to get an understanding of progress, practice and learning across the country.

The responses will inform a national learning report, highlighting the work happening across local areas (including local authorities and key community planning partners) in Scotland. The report will focus on sharing key learning about what works, the barriers and enablers to embedding a trauma-informed and responsive approach, and initial evidence around demonstrating impact.

This learning report will provide a national thematic picture of progress towards embedding a trauma-informed and responsive approach across organisations, systems and workforces

We are planning a national learning event later in autumn to mark the publication of the report and to share the key findings and recommendations with stakeholders, colleagues and national partners.
