We have recently updated our ‘Place and Wellbeing: integrating land use planning and public health in Scotland’ briefing paper.

Developed by our Planning for Place programme, the briefing raises awareness of the impact that the places where people live, work, and play have on health and wellbeing. It provides practical guidance for land use planners, public health practitioners and policymakers to work together, using a whole systems approach to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities.

It introduces land use planners to the public health system and public health professionals to the planning system, and outlines several key opportunities for more integrated working to realise shared ambitions.

If you have any questions, or if you are looking to engage with good practice, then we encourage you to join the Place and Wellbeing Network Knowledge Hub. This group is for everyone who is adopting a place-based approach in their work or is curious to find out more about place and its impact on the environments where we live, work, and play.
