In April 2024, the IS ELC team hosted an online learning event that sought to bring together Early Learning and Childcare leads, Service Managers and other key stakeholders to explore how settings can ensure additional support needs (ASN) are not a barrier for children accessing their statutory entitlement of funded ELC.
The well-attended session aimed to strengthen the understanding of effective ASN provision in early years, and to provide attendees with simple and practical methods of implementing ASN-inclusive practice in early learning and childcare settings across Scotland.
A new case study has been published that summarises support from the IS ELC team to education officials and partner providers from West Lothian Council to realise a shared vision for partnership working.
