The IS Public Service Reform team will present at the Scottish Leaders Forum lunchtime learning webinar, led by the Office of Chief Social Policy Adviser Prof. Linda Bauld, in collaboration with The Corra Foundation & The Improvement Service.

Covid-19 served to create the conditions that led to a unique period of experimentation in the design and delivery of public services. In November 2023, the Covid-19 Learning and Evaluation Oversight Group published a report: Learning to inform Scotland’s recovery from COVID-19. This report synthesised evidence from evaluations of Covid-19 interventions and a series of workshops with senior leaders from across Scotland.

The Covid Learning Webinar is run by the authors of this report, in collaboration with the Corra Foundation and the Improvement Service, to highlight and operationalise the key findings around themes such as trust, collaboration and partnership working, risk and accountability and equality and inclusion.

Community Planning Update

The Improvement Service has appointed a Community Planning Project Officer, Karen Brown, to support the Scottish Community Planning Network.

Karen writes:

"Hello, my name is Karen Brown and I have just joined Improvement Service as Community Planning Project Officer. I’ll be looking after the Scottish Community Planning Network and working alongside Adam Hall and Emma Gartshore on all things community planning and public service reform. I’m really excited to be back in Scotland and the world of work after having taken the last 10 months off to travel with my partner. Thank you to those I’ve met already for such a warm welcome. I look forward to meeting and getting to know a lot more of you over the coming weeks and months."
