In September 2026, the first Additional Support Needs in Early Learning and Childcare Action Learning Set brought together colleagues from across the ELC sector to explore how children and families can access earlier, more inclusive and better coordinated support.
The session highlighted both the increasing complexity of children's needs and the key role of ELC in improving outcomes through effective early support. Emerging insights will help inform improvement activity, policy development and system-level learning across the sector, supporting efforts to strengthen inclusive practice, build workforce confidence, improve partnership working and create the conditions for more effective and sustainable support for children with ASN at both local and national levels.
