Differences and challenges in teams
This course looks at how teams ‘travel’ together on a journey of development. The course encourages you to recognise difference and challenge amongst individuals in the team who are pulling in different directions. It will help you identify where such challenges can be embraced for the benefit of your team and your organisation.

Developing high trust work relationships
Learn about trust in the organisational context. This course introduces the concept of trust, what it means to you and how it may affect your organisation. On completing the course, you should be able to:
- understand the broad roles of trust in modern economics
- explain the changes in organisational dynamics that have led to a focus on trust within organisations
- understand and discuss the consequences of trust within organisations.

Strategic human resource management rests on the belief that people are the key to achieving competitive advantage. Employees need to be seen as assets to be developed, not costs to be controlled. This course explores three key themes: employee engagement, employee involvement and collective aspects of employee relations.

How teams work
This course provides an introduction to working in virtual project teams by explaining terms and concepts related to teams and to projects. The complexity of the interaction of people and technology is highlighted.
After studying this course, you should be able to:
- understand the issues and processes that relate to team formation and development in a virtual context
- identify barriers to effective teamwork in a virtual environment and propose solutions
- review and comment on team activities in a virtual environment and develop insights to make informed judgements and recommendations for future good practice
- synthesise theory and practical experience to make recommendations for good practice in new team environments.

This course explores team working from start to finish. It looks at how successful teams are created, roles within a team, the life cycle of a team, how to manage conflict within teams and evaluating team performance.
