Early learning and childcare
The final deep dive workshop with local authorities participating in the two-year-old improvement project took place this month, while work continues on developing the Outcomes Measurement Framework ahead of its launch in April 2025.
We are currently assisting one local authority with a staff survey and engaging with another on a parental survey.
Additionally, the team are finalising several case studies covering various thematic issues, which will be published on the IS website later this month.
Public service reform
On 3 February 2025, the Public Service Reform team facilitated the second Fairer Futures Partnership (FFP) learning event at Victoria Quay, where colleagues from existing and new FFPs came together in person for the first time. The session provided a collaborative forum for FFP delivery leads to share plans, discuss challenges, and learn from one another’s experiences with a focus on driving effective delivery and measuring impact. A full summary of the event is available.
Community planning
In 2024, the Perth and Kinross Community Planning Partnership (CPP) underwent a period of change, looking to enhance leadership, streamline governance, and refocus on key priorities. By leveraging existing structures and fostering collaboration, the CPP adopted a more pragmatic approach to supporting ongoing work rather than commissioning new initiatives. This shift has led to stronger partnerships, clearer strategic direction, and a renewed focus on tackling socio-economic inequality in the region. A new case study has been published on the IS website that examines the methodology applied, and the impact of this work.
