In 2024, the Perth and Kinross Community Planning Partnership (CPP) underwent a period of change, looking to enhance leadership, streamline governance, and refocus on key priorities. By leveraging existing structures and fostering collaboration, the CPP adopted a more pragmatic approach to supporting ongoing work rather than commissioning new initiatives. This shift has led to stronger partnerships, clearer strategic direction, and a renewed focus on tackling socio-economic inequality in the region.

Scottish Borders Community Planning Partnership: Change of Strategic Board to Become an Unincorporated Association

In 2021, Scottish Borders Community Planning Partnership (CPP) undertook a review of its governance arrangements, supported by the Improvement Service. This work captured learning from the Covid-19 pandemic and led to a significant change: the CPP Strategic Board transitioned from being a committee of Scottish Borders Council to an independent unincorporated association. This shift better reflects the shared leadership and true partnership working at the heart of Community Planning, offering greater flexibility and stronger collaboration between statutory and non-statutory partners.

Community Planning Aberdeen (CPA) highlight the successful implementation of their Local Outcome Improvement Plan (LOIP) and Locality Plans, which have fostered a data-driven, multi-agency approach to reducing inequalities across Aberdeen. By adopting the Institute of Health Improvement's Model for Improvement, CPA has effectively broken-down change into manageable chunks, ensuring measurable progress. The collaborative efforts of partner organisations in achieving stretch outcomes has been key to this, focusing on key areas such as economy, community empowerment, and the wellbeing of children, young people, and adults. With a clear vision for Aberdeen's prosperity, CPA's structured Quality Improvement approach has led to significant advancements in partnership working and improved outcomes for the community.

Community Planning Aberdeen: Achieving Better Outcomes, My Way to Employment Project

In their LOIP Community Planning Aberdeen (CPA) included an improvement aim focussed on reducing inequalities and improving outcomes for people engaged in the Justice System. The transformative impact of the My Way to Employment project, designed to support individuals in overcoming barriers to work and achieving meaningful employment is highlighted here. Through personalised guidance, skills development, and tailored support, participants have been empowered to build confidence, secure job opportunities, and improve their long-term career prospects demonstrating the effectiveness of a multi-agency, person-centered approach in driving positive employment outcomes.
