Our Programme has been supporting place-based work in seven Project Towns since 2021 and we now have a full complement of resources on our website. We have included some of these below, but head over to our Local Project Action pages to read all of our resources.

Planning for Place Programme – Place and Wellbeing Outcomes Movement Webinar

It was great to see so many people at this month’s Planning for Place’s Programme Webinar on Movement – one of the themes within the Place and Wellbeing Outcomes. We were joined by

  • Irene Beautyman, Planning for Place and Shaping Places for Wellbeing Programme Lead
  • Anna Gale, Health Improvement Manager at Public Health Scotland
  • Mary Sinclair, Shaping Places for Wellbeing Programme, Project Lead for Clydebank at the Improvement Service

The webinar launched a new briefing ‘Place and Wellbeing: Movement Theme’ that was created by Public Health Scotland at the request of the Place and Wellbeing Collaborative group. The webinar also discussed how the Place and Wellbeing Outcomes can support all sectors to focus on place-based decision making and implementation, as well as how the Movement theme has been integrated into the work of the Shaping Places for Wellbeing Clydebank Project Town.

If you missed the webinar, you can catch up on Youtube. Additionally, if you want to read the briefing in full, or if you want to find out about the work of the Place and Wellbeing Collaborative, make sure to check out the recently updated Planning for Place webpages.

Place and Wellbeing Outcome Briefings

Our Project Towns are continuing to develop Place and Wellbeing Outcome Briefings. These highlight the evidence behind each of the Place and Wellbeing Outcomes, and explore how each outcome impacts communities, organisations and practitioners within our Project Towns.

This month our Project Town of Alloa has added a briefing to our website. It explores how public transport (movement) has impacted communities within Alloa, as well as highlighting the evidence behind public transport and health and wellbeing.

You can read our other Project Town Briefings on our Ayr, Clydebank, Dalkeith, Dunoon and Fraserburgh pages.
