Impact Assessments can sometimes feel like just another process to work through - but when they are done well, they can be a really practical way of making better decisions and designing services that work well for the people who need them most. In this session, we’ll look at how impact assessments can help councils use evidence to understand different community needs, spot potential unintended consequences, and think about what could be done differently to reduce inequalities and improve outcomes. We’ll also explore how this links to wider ambitions around prevention, early intervention and public service reform - including how better insight can help services respond earlier, make better use of resources, and support people before issues become more complex.
