The Improvement Service (IS) and TCS are celebrating a decade of successful partnership in delivering digital public services in Scotland.
The partnership began in 2014 with the development of the mygovscot myaccount platform, the secure sign-in service for Scottish public services. Mygovscot myaccount is now used by over 2.5 million people in Scotland and by 41 organisations across the public sector.
Since then, the IS and TCS have delivered a portfolio of products and services used across Scottish local government. These include:
- getyournec.scot, which allows Scottish residents to apply for a National Entitlement Card online
- parentsportal.scot, which connects parents/carers with their child’s school
- One Scotland Gazetteer, the definitive register of all addresses in Scotland
- tellmescotland.gov.uk, the national public notices portal
- DCN.scot, the Scottish dog control database
- bisaccount.scot, a simple and secure sign-in service for businesses using online public services
- Data Hub, an online data matching and cleansing solution for the Scottish public sector
- Datapipeline.scot, which enables the secure transfer of data about early learning and childcare eligibility between the Scottish Government and local authorities.
Speaking about the benefits of these services, Andy Campbell, Head of Digital Public Services at the Improvement Service, said: “Scottish councils are currently facing significant financial challenges so the ability to deliver once for all 32 local authorities not only enables us to improve the service for citizens, but enables local authorities to deliver savings and efficiencies.”
