Scenario planning helps us look at challenges we face from different perspectives, by identifying and analysing current information and future trends and considering the possible impact of these. It can help us consider what we have learned, and how we might adapt and evolve.
Scenario planning does not focus on the current processes or services in place, it begins with understanding key issues and decisions that need to be progressed.
Remember scenarios are not predictions, they are plausible hypotheticals. Scenario planning helps us have better and more informed strategic conversations, however scenarios should not be considered in isolation, they are part of a toolkit for future planning.
