The joint Employability Strategic Plan was published in September 2024 and laid out the actions that Scottish and Local Government will take to deliver the next phase of No One Left Behind.
The below products have been developed over the first year of the plan, by a number of cross-sectoral working groups, in relation to actions included under the five main priorities of:
- Continuing to improve the employability system
- Increasing awareness and uptake of employability support
- Tackling child poverty by increasing parental income from employment
- Supporting disabled people and those with a long term health condition
- Delivering jointly with wider public services
LEP Framework
The original Local Employability Partnership Framework was published in 2020. This latest version has been developed by a cross-sectoral working group of key partners, and brings the framework up to date with findings from the LEP Maturity Assessment 2024 and the latest guidance on effective partnership working.
Good Practice Guide for Commissioning Employability Services in Scotland
This Good Practice Guide has been developed by a cross-sectoral working group with representatives from across public, third and private sectors. The guidance provides examples of good practice and supports an emphasis on integration and alignment, a mixed economy of provision and a commitment to strengthened partnership working.
Good Practice Guidance on Communicating Employability Services
A cross-sectoral working group - including lived experience involvement - was established to help improve communication across Scotland's employability system. The group produced this good practice guidance which includes suggestions of good, and not so good, practice for content of online websites and digital information and also provides introductory paragraphs for use on marketing and communications to support more consistent messaging across partners.

No One Left Behind/Employability
This group supports the transformation of Scotland's employability support system outlined in No One Left Behind. It is a shared space for a collaborative approach between Scottish and local government.

SLAED: the Scottish Local Authorities Economic Development Group
A place for Scottish local authority economic development representatives to share and develop thinking, collectively address topical issues and organise SLAED activity.
