Analyse Needs
The focus of this stage is to identify where improvements can be made to the business system. The outputs at the end of this stage will be the potential solutions devised. Depending on how many potential solutions found and their complexity, a gap analysis may be conducted to understand the steps required to achieve the potential solutions. With gap analysis the emphasis is on understanding where we want to be and, by looking at where we are now, what needs to change to take us there. The output from the gap analysis will feed into the ‘Evaluate Options’ phase and help decide which solution(s) should be recommended.
